What Happens After Your Modular Home is Set?

Today’s post continues our in-depth review of the steps it takes to build your dream modular home.

At this point, you’ve watched your new modular home arrive and be set on its foundation—an exciting milestone in the home-building process! But what happens next? Once the modules are securely in place, the finishing touches begin to bring your dream home to life. Here’s what to expect in the next phase of construction:

Interior Finishes Come Together

Inside your home, many key features are already installed, making the final steps more efficient than traditional on-site builds. Here’s what’s in place:

  • Cabinets, countertops, and fixtures – Your kitchen and bathroom cabinets are installed, along with countertops, sinks, and faucets, so these spaces quickly take shape.
  • Bath fixtures – Tubs, showers, and vanities are all in place, complete with mirrors and light fixtures over the vanity.
  • Interior doors and trim – Interior doors are installed on all non-mating walls, along with casing and base trim, adding a polished look to each room.
  • Windows and exterior doors – Your home’s Andersen windows and doors are already installed and ready for operation, ensuring security and energy efficiency.

Lighting & Final Touches

While some light fixtures are installed at the factory, others are shipped loose to prevent damage during transportation. Once your home is set, your builder will install any remaining fixtures, ensuring every room is properly illuminated.

Exterior Finishing Work

Many modular homes arrive with siding partially installed at the factory. However, some finishing touches—such as completing the siding, connecting utilities, and building porches or decks—are completed on-site to ensure a seamless look.

Your Home is Almost Move-In Ready!

With these key elements in place, your modular home is well on its way to completion. Your builder will finalize any remaining details, connect utilities, and complete site-specific work like landscaping and driveways. Before you know it, you’ll be stepping through the front door of your beautiful, brand-new home!
